Me

a new musical

the cracks are starting to spread

about

Five friends attempt to come to terms with the recent and unexpected death of Dean. Gathered on the eve of his funeral they cry, laugh, and reminisce. Though one question remains: why did he kill himself?

With book, music, and lyrics by Arnoud Breitbarth and Christian Czornyj, Catch Me is an intimate musical with a hard hitting story that will make you smile, question, and cry. Featuring a cast of 6 and a live band, this is a uniquely different piece of musical theatre that you can’t afford to miss.

history

Catch Me was originally conceived at Mountview Academy, where the show was extensively workshopped utilising Mountview Academy Musical Theatre students. Following this development the show debuted at London’s Art Theatre West End where it received a two week run under the direction of Jill Patterson. The show was branded as a ‘Must See’ by FringeReview and in June 2017, funded by Arts Council England's Artists’ International Development Fund, a staged reading in Amsterdam followed. The show was radically reworked with support from seasoned Dutch director Daniël Cohen to suit the larger spaces more common in the Netherlands. Following the successful reading, the show was then further rewritten and in 2020 produced by The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama for their Musical Theatre Students Graduate show.
