As an experienced sound designer and operator, Christian has worked on a range of projects from film, to musical theatre, to straight plays. Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he achieved a First Class Honors degree in music, specializing in electronic music. Being musically trained has enabled him to be extremely creative with his sound design, giving him the advanced aural skills to mix sound intelligently.
Christian has accompanied film screenings with his own live sound design as part of the Barbican Silent Film Festival. Using MaxMSP to manipulate live audio, Christian creates unique sound worlds and atmospheres. He has comprehensive knowledge of audio editing software and regularly creates soundscapes for installations and plays. He is well versed in recording techniques and has the equipment and skills to create his own foley effects.
Christian frequently works for Jam Theatre Company as a sound designer and general theatre technician, creating the specification, effects, and backing tracks for many of their original shows.
